Hi everyone!!! So should we start by addressing the elephant in the room? I finally changed my page theme/look! I am so happy with how it looks, I literally didn’t do much of anything else for like a whole day getting all this set up. Oh and also, shall we address the blog name change and added category!!? ha! Well I wanted to expand my blog to other topics besides makeup and skin care, soooo I decided that lifestyle would be perfect! I hope everyone likes the change and addition! So since I have not done any lifestyle posts, I figured I’d write my first about my fitness routine! This post won’t be long, promise!
Let’s jump right in!
Let’s start by saying, I workout at home because well #momlife. I don’t have anyone to watch the kids while my husband is at work, so at home workout it is! Guys working out with two little kids around is not easy, I’m sure I’m not the only one who experiences this. There are many interruptions in between workouts. BUT! what I try to do is, not always, wake up and get it done before they do. Yes it is hard especially after a long day and all you want to do is sleep in. I did this even before I stopped working. Ok Ana, but how do you get motivated? You may wonder. Well let me tell you some of the things I do/have to get my motivation going.
Pretty workout outfits
One of the most motivating things for me is new workout clothes, well not necessarily new, but cute workout outfits, yes I said cute and no I don’t care that no one sees them since I workout at home lol. So that’s one of my number one motivating factors to get up and do it! I am huge graphic tees addict, like I have an unhealthy obsession lol. So I always try to pick out a top that has something cutesy or “clever” saying on it. Trust me, it helps, it works, well at least for me.
Another trick that usually works for me, getting everything ready the night before. I literally lay everything out in my living room this way I am forced to get up and walk away from the bedroom! I also love setting the alarm on my Fitbit and since I wear it to sleep and so setting the alarm without snooze helps a lot.
Think about goals
Last but not least in the motivation department, I try to think about my goals. I literally talk to myself- Do I want to lose the weight? Do I need to be healthy? Think about how great you feel after the exercise is done, after all it’s only thirty minutes. I know it sounds silly, but saying these things to myself push me to get my buns out of bed and I’m not going to sit here and lie, sometimes it doesn’t work because well, I’m human and I want that extra hour of sleep before I start my crazy days with the boys.
The Fun stuff
Ok, so now the fun stuff! The actual workout routine I follow! I don’t know if you remember this post where I mentioned that I used to be a Beachbody Coach. I’m not an active coach anymore, but I kept the membership and I do follow their workout programs. These workouts are amazing, they work! I am particularly obsessed with Shaun T’s programs. I have done his Insanity Max 30 program three times including this round. The program is hard, not going to sugar coat it, but it’s effective, I find that I get the best results when I follow his programs. So basically the way Insanity Max 30 works is for two months you get to do a different workout each day and then Sunday is rest day. Each week you repeat each workout with an added ten to fifteen minutes of abs routine on week three.
Along with the fitness program you get a nutrition guide, you get the calendars for each month and you also get a sheet to track your progress. You get the same program materials regardless of how you purchase the program, which would be either a physical purchase where they mail you all materials or digital if you use Beachbody on Demand which is what I have. I like Beachbody on Demand because you get access to all the fitness programs, this makes it totally worth it for me since I don’t have a gym membership anymore.
I love that I have the freedom to do these workouts at the privacy of my home and not have that awkward feeling I used to get when I had a gym membership lol.
