Hi everyone! I hope you’re all having a great week! I have been a little sick, and so have the whole family! So it’s been quite the week around these woods! Anyway, I wanted to do this post for while and finally getting around to do it! HAC a.k.a. highlight and contour! This little makeup technique is so intimidating, but I have gotten somewhat ok at it, I’m still learning, I feel like I can actually do it and make my round face look snatched lol. I want to share with you my go to products for highlighting and contouring!
Let’s jump right in!
First let me just say, if you have dry skin, cream contouring is the best! Creams are my go to. There are two products that I reach for back and forth, the first product is the Sephora Contour and Highlighting Stick. I only use the contouring side of the stick on this (I’ll get into the highlight part a little later). I absolutely love how easy this is to blend. Also I love that when you blend it doesn’t look blotchy, it just blends into the skin very smoothly. So if you’re in the hunt for an inexpensive HAC stick, this one is perfect and very inexpensive, I bought mine when they had a sale for $11 dollars-it is out of stock at the moment, but NYX has a dupe for this also and you can find it here.
The second product I use is the KKW Beauty Contour sticks. These are of course more expensive, BUT they are a dream to blend! This is perfect if you like super subtle contouring. I personally always do very light contouring, no matter how much makeup I wear. If you ever wondered if these work, I will say, yes, for me, they are pretty amazing to work with. If you don’t have a product like this to contour, you can always use a concealer darker than your skin tone and that’ll do the trick!
I normally don’t contour OR highlight with powder products because, again, dry skin. But I do use it to set my creams. My go to powder contour is the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour palette. I love this palette. If you love powders to highlight and contour I recommend this one. This palette is very pigmented, goes on skin beautifully and it is easy to blend. I also use good old bronzer when I don’t want to do an actual “contour”, but want to add some dimension to my face.
This one is very simple, I use my concealer! The reason I use my Tarte Shape concealer to highlight is because usually highlighting sticks tend to be so drying and my under eyes are already dry. When I want to do the most with my highlighting, lol I mix my medium light AND my light concealers.
Glow to the Gods Highlight
Guys, I love a good glow! highlighting the high points of your face can bring so much dimension to the face! I am addicted to glowing to the Gods lol. I have some recent additions that I have not put down, let’s list them below so we can give them their own shinning light – no pun intended lol.
Colourpop Supershock Highlighter |Lunch Money| wow this highlighter is just stunning! This is the first Colourpop highlighter I ever owned and I’m totally obsessed! I like applying this with my finger because it is so creamy that I feel trying to pick it up with a brush doesn’t do it justice! Oh and the price, can’t beat it!
Ofra Highlighter |Rodeo Drive| this highlighter is BLINDING! I have been wearing this non stop since I bought it and I love mixing it with Lunch Money and OMG I get the most blinding highlight ever!! But this one alone is amazing. It does have some fall out though, but that’s not a deal breaker for me! It does its job at blinding! Totally recommend.
Jouer Highlighters |Citrine & Skinny Dip| these two have been my go to for a while. Well Skinny Dip is one of the newest, but became one of my go to since I bought it. These highlighters are so beautiful and the pigmentation is on point.Ok my loves I hope you enjoy and find this post helpful! Comment below what are your favorite contouring and highlighting products? I love getting your comments! I’ll see you on my next post! Love you guys!💕 XOXO💋 Ana ]]>
