Hi everyone!!! So I’ve recently dedicated posts to my night time and morning skincare routines, and then my favorite brushes, I think it is safe to say we need a makeup post, no? I figured I’d do a post on what’s in my makeup bag, the one I carry when I go out without the kids, no diaper bag, snack bag, everything but makeup bag, you get my point, right? (teehee #momlife).
So everyone (or mostly everyone) does their makeup before they leave their house, I know I do (hehe). So what I actually carry in my makeup bag it’s pretty basic and are the things that I love and can’t leave without!
So here is the rundown on what I always carry and why I love it!
Since I do the base at home, you know, moisturizing, priming, foundation, setting, etc, etc., the first thing I make sure I have with me is whatever lipstick I’m wearing, which mostly likely is a combination of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick-Crush and I like to top it with Nars- Chelsea Girls, these two together look so pretty! I love that the combination doesn’t disturb one another, meaning, when I top the liquid lipstick, with the gloss it doesn’t change the color too much and it doesn’t make it wear any less than if I wore it alone.
Eyebrow product, usually the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow gel, ok so I have pretty thick brows, which thankfully allows me to go without any filling. I love setting my brows with this clear gel because it keeps them in place all day; and even if I used a little filling (I use the ABH brow wiz), I would still use the brow gel to set them in place.
Concealer, I’m not sure why, but I always throw my concealer in my bag. I think just in case I get my mascara smeared on my face lol…anyway, I cannot, and I mean CANNOT live without my Tarte Shape Tape concealer. I get the light medium shade to highlight a bit. This is by far the only concealer that helps me really cover my dark circles, which I love, and also love that it doesn’t crease as much as other concealers, it is super full coverage and it doesn’t feel drying under my eyes.
Mascara, I have a few that I love, but lately my absolute favorites are the Stila Extreme mascara mixed with Cover Girl’s Total Tease. I love love these two mascaras separately and together! Lately I have been using them together because I get so much length when I do that! I get length and volume wearing them alone, but together OH MY! they are like the best marriage! Also just a side note, I use the Total Tease that is not waterproof, I find it so much easier to wash off without tugging at my eyes and I haven’t had any issues with runny mascara!
Eyeliner, so I have two that always use, either the Tarte Inner Rim Brightener. I love this liner, it makes my eyes look a little bigger, awake and also brightens them, especially on those days when my eyes look extra tired. I also like to use the ABH waterproof liner . The reason why I like this one is because it’s waterproof and it doesn’t smear off under my eyes. I tried drugstore liners and stopped using them because of this reason! If you have a good drugstore recommendation, please leave it in the comments!!
Blush, I always have my blush on me because well, I think blush is one of those things that easily wears off faster than any other makeup product. I carry one of my favorites, which my sister introduced me to and I fell in love with; the Mac powder blush-Pinch Me. This blush is so pretty! It just gives such a healthy look to the face, it is the right shade of pinky, mauvey shade, I haven’t stopped using it since I bought it.
Highlighter! boys, girls, never leave your house without your highlighter! lol you never know when you might need a touch up! Before my current obsession (Jouer), I usually carried my Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop. I really like this highlighter because well simply it is so gorgeous. BUT lately I have been obsessed with the Jouer-Citrine highlighter. OMG every time I apply this I just stare at how blinding it is! This is a most have in your highlighter collection! It’s so creamy and soft and goes on the skin like butter! Absolutely obsessed with this!
Lastly, I carry a travel size of the Mario Badescu facial spray. The reason why I added this to my makeup bag is because it is so refreshing and sometimes you just need something refreshing, especially if you’ve been out all day and your makeup doesn’t look as fresh as when you stepped out of the house (I talk about this spray on my nighttime/daytime skincare routines). I also carry a small double ended brush and a tiny beauty sponge because well, how can you retouch without it, right?
So there you have it! This is my basic, #momlife makeup bag. Very simple, I carry the things that I think I would most likely use and need for a quick and possibly necessary “touch up”. 💁🏻[caption width="300" id="attachment_195" align="alignnone"] I’m terrible at taking pictures lol, promise to get better![/caption]
