Hi everyone! Happy December!! Wow, I can’t believe the Holidays ARE really upon us and so is winter!! I know I’m not the only person whose skin suffers big time during the winter time, right? Winter causes mayhem on the skin; between the cold temperatures, dry indoor heating, the cold winds it literally sucks all the moisture out of our skin! So, I want to do a mini Winter Essentials Series and of course, I wanted to start with skincare! Let’s Jump Right In!
Winter can be magical, but wicked to the skin!
This is one of my newest additions to my skincare, but this ultra-rich cream is so hydrating. Your skin will for sure feel supple, soft and I’ll say it again, very hydrated.
Looking for a more affordable moisturizer? Simple Replenishing Rich Facial Moisturizer it’s one of my favorite drugstore moisturizes for the face! I like to go back and forth between my expensive moisturizer and this lol. Gotta keep the skin guessing ha! Anyway, this is REALLY nourishing and hydrating.
Is your skin thirsty? Give it some Tatcha Violet C. This mask will deliver in the hydration, nourishment and radiance departments. I usually use it at night at least twice a week. Also, check out my Mask Off post, you will find some affordable masks choices!
I recently spoke about this cleansing oil. Oils are the best cleansers in the winter. You will for sure get the moisture your skin needs and will get that supple, smooth feeling as well. This oil also works as a makeup remover! Your face will not feel dry after cleansing with this. Instead, you’ll feel the softness and suppleness it brings out.
Where do I start with this mist? Well I guess let’s start with the obvious, it is dewy, moisturizing and you can use it under makeup or over it! I use it both ways especially when my skin needs a little kick of extra moisture and luminosity to the face. Makeup tip: If you want your highlighter to pop even more, spray this on your face after applying, it will bring out the highlight like whoa!
For a more affordable spray; I won’t leave you hanging girl; I love the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea. This spray is super refreshing, cooling and very hydrating. Your skin will feel so nice after spraying this because of its cooling sensation!
I just recently talked about this product in my last post. The oil is infused with 24 karat gold, so fancy lol. I love using it in my normal skincare routine, but also as a primer! Foundation looks like a dream when you use this as a primer! And of course, this oil leaves the skin super hydrated and glowy. Apply on top of your regular moisturizer, as oil can absorb over lotion, but not the other way around.
Give your under eyes some hydration! I don’t know about you, but my under eyes get so dry ALL THE TIME! Recently, I just went back to this cream since my whole debacle with my current skincare routine. I can’t say anything about the brightening effect, as I have never noticed any in my case, but when it comes to keeping my under eyes hydrated, it does its job very well!
Having problems with those dry lips!? This lip mask is nourishing, moisturizing and hydrating. But if you don’t want to break the bank on a lip mask, totally understand, baby Aquaphor works just as well, I go back and forth between these two and love them both! A little tip: I like to buy the mini tubes of the baby Aquaphor this way I can carry them in my bag!
As described on the Sephora website, this exfoliator is “a fizzy, sugar exfoliating treatment for softened, renewed, and kissable lips.” I love this exfoliator, it truly buffs away the dry flakes on the lips and leaves your lips feeling very smooth. Glamglow also sells the lip balm if this is something you would be interested in. You can also check out my DIY lip scrub post if you want to save some dolla dolla bills lol.
Lastly, I wanted to end this post with a body moisturizer. Our bodies need as much moisture as our faces. I love this Cetaphil lotion so much! The best thing is you can use it on babies, in case you’re a mom and have small children! (My and my sons’ dermatologist said it’s safe for children, just FYI). This lotion is simply the best in giving you the moisture your body needs and it is soothing for those who suffer from eczema, like my kids and myself.
Ok my loves, this is all I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed this post. Please stay tuned for the second part of my Winter Essentials Series. Please don’t forget to share this with your friends, especially if you think someone might find this information helpful! *wink wink* lol
Do you have a go-to product during the winter months? If so, which one? Share in the comments, I love hearing from you!
